|What is Permanent Makeup? Permanent makeup is an art not a science and is done using pigment not ink so it fades over time .The sun, skin care products, medications, smoking, and different types of skin can cause this to happen at a different rate for each individual. It is a wonderful thing that the pigments fade over time this enables us to make changes to color and shape over the years. Once a year maintenance touchup is needed to keep color fresh and true. It can take multiple appointments to complete a look and can wear differently on each individual. When it comes to permanent makeup the first three years of touchups are the most important. This is where we can adjust the color to wear true to form, similar to finding the perfect hair color. The longer you wait for touchups you will see color changing to a orange or ashy, and sometimes pink in tone. This happening is from going too long without a touchup and this is not the artists fault.
Who will I speak with?
|Answering The Phone:
You will I speak with Cathy Permatech's manager when calling the front desk. Cathy has been working for Permatech sense early 2011. She has been a client at Permatech for years and has repeated experience with all the procedure from eyeshadow to blush. She is personally capable of answering any questions you might have that this site may not answer for you. Antoinette the owner, Rosalinda and Zoey are the artists in the studio and sometimes are available to speak with you, but when they are working Cathy will take care of you.
What can I expect?
We will discuss what procedure you are interested in having done. What look you want to achieve and if we have any suggestions to guide you in achieving that look, we will and talk about colors and shape. Then we do a pencil test that will show you what the outcome will look like with a picture to take home so you can continue looking at it days later. Now you are ready to make your first appointment. The first appointment will take one and a half hours and there will be one touch up needed thereafter within a six week period. Consultations are free. Consultations can be done the same day of the appointment.
What is a Pencil Test?
The pencil test is a full proof way to assure you of the right outcome. If you need guidance on what your outcome should be we will help you using our techniques as makeup artists to find the right look for you. You can book a consultation and wear your makeup to the appointment so we can see what you are used to wearing. Or bring your favorite pencils to the appointment so we can match the color.
How do I book an appointment?
Booking An Appointment:
Booking an appointment with Antoinette(owner)could take some patience because of her 20+ year's experience she has a large clientele. Booking an appointment with Antoinette could take up to a month. Feel fee to book with Rosalinda or Zoey they are highly qualified and trained personally by Antoinette. So when booking an appointment and if it takes too long, or you need to get in for an occasion make sure you book far enough in advance so you can get in. You can book up to 2 months in advance. If you would like to book online go to BOOK ONLINE NOW in the top right hand corner of this page. Thank you and we look forward to meeting with you soon.
If you are a new client to Permatech:
We now have a NEW "Pay as you go" program. This program enables you to pay for the first appointment and for the second appointment separately. But remember the first and the second appointments should be booked within a three month period, preferably 6 weeks after the first appointment. If you wait too long to book your second appointment you might need to start over. If you are new to Permatech but have had previous work done by someone else and you want a touch up you will need a "New Client Touchup". Reason being many times color, shape or changing solid brows to the hairstroke technique takes more work. If it has been over 3 years most likely you will have to start over and pay for a new procedure.
If you are a previous client to Permatech:
You would book a touchup service of 1, 2,3 or 4 procedures depending on what is needed. If it has been over 3 years or you want to change color or shape you will need to book a second touchup or spot touch appointment at a cost. Read the services carefully to choose the correct one for you.
We do the best we can to make the cost affordable our rates at Permatech are at a low in comparison to other places because we believe in less is more.
Thank you from all of us at Permatech Makeup Studio
|I’m afraid of pain.. does Permanent Makeup have to hurt a lot?
New topical anesthetics have been developed especially for permanent makeup. These creams and gels are applied to the desired area before and during the procedure to assure you of the most comfortable experience possible. Some people describe the sensation as a “tingling” feeling. Most people experience some discomfort, especially for lip color procedures. It is common to hear that there was not as much pain as was expected. As the anesthetic wears off the procedure, cool packs are very soothing to the area.
How long will it take to recover?
You’ll look like you’ve had a good cry for several hours following the eyeliner procedure. It is advised to apply ice for 10 minutes at a time during these first few hours. Also, it is important to wear sunglasses, as your eyes may be temporarily sensitive to light. Eyebrow procedures have the least swelling. Lip color often involves temporary swelling. You must let your technician know if you have a history of fever blisters so your doctor can prescribe medication.
How long will my Permanent Make up last?
Permanent makeup is long-lasting. However, as you become accustomed to your new makeup, it is not uncommon to want more. You will want to freshen up your new makeup every couple of years. The darker the colors, such as black, the longer it will stay unchanged in your skin. Natural, delicate colors are oftentimes more vulnerable to the effects of the sun, swimming and breakdown by the body. No pigment is FDA approved for tattoos. Both organic and inorganic pigments may be used to achieve the desire color.
Can I remove my Permanent Makeup if I change my mind?
Because it’s easy to add color and difficult to take away, your technician will be conservative in the initial application of your new color. Take advantage of the consultation to discuss your wants and needs. It’s also time where you and your technician choose the right colors and discuss any special requests you may have. Your cooperation will largely determine the end result of your procedure Remember it is a team effort.
Will I really look like myself.. Only Better?
Permanent cosmetic makeup helps replenish what time has taken away and gives back precious time you normally spend “putting on your face”. You can save up to 100 hours in a single year that were formerly spent struggling to draw eyebrows evenly or eyeliner half-way straight. That’s two and onehalf weeks of free time plus the money you’ll save buying new and expensive cosmetics that rub off, smear, smudge and disappear during the day.
Permanent Makeup is not intended to replace cosmetics completely. Because the color is placed “in” your skin and not “on” your skin a more natural, softer look result. When you’re ready for a special occasion, you can apply as much additional makeup as you wish.
Can I get my Permanent Makeup cheaper?
Remember the saying, “you get what you pay for”. It saves you money and embarrassment to do it right the first time. If you already have permanent makeup and wish to make changes, please call for a consult.
